Remarketing
Perhaps the biggest breakthrough in online marketing terms since pay-per-click, remarketing is showing very promising results to its users.
What is remarketing?
It's essentially a tracking system. Up to this point in time anyone that visits your website and then leaves it without 'converting' (whether that be signing up for something, or contacting you, or buying something, etc), has been a lost opportunity for you. And currently for most small business websites that relates to about 99% of your visitors.
Even if you're good at SEO and other marketing techniques it's likely that the best conversion rates you'll achieve are between 10-30% but that still means that 70-90% of visitors are being 'lost' to you when they leave your site.
Remarketing allows you to 'follow' those people as they move onto other sites, and more importantly allows you to put a 'reminder' about you in front of them while they're on other websites.
A remarketing example
Here's how it works:
- Say you sell widgets on your website and I visit your website and look at your blue widget page
- I leave your website without making an enquiry or without buying
- I visit another website that's nothing to do with your site or with widgets
- What I see on this website is an advert about YOU and Blue Widgets
- I go to another website - again, nothing to do with you or with blue widgets
- I see another advert on this website about YOU and blue widgets
- I am being remarketed to by you - about the product that I was interested in on your website
Not only that but you can 'follow' me around for up to 18 months! In marketing terms, it's brilliant, and we can set up your remarketing campaigns for you.
